Dr. Hitoca H Sumi, MA-Philosophy (NEHU). Phd (GU) is the son of Mr. N Hozheto Achumi. He is married and has four children. He served as th Principal of Asian Arts College, Sovima before venturing into publishing and is also serving in St Joseph University as a Doctoral Committee member.
In this book, the importance of the historical background of Nagas in general and the Sumi Naga, in particular, is shown. Beliefs and practices play an important role in making the Naga life complete) and they are also associated with all their activities. Namely, 'genas' are observed during hunting, fishing, disposing of dead bodies, divorce, etc. Nagas have a strong conception of human soul and the existence of 'village of the dead form the foundation of their moral codes.
