Charles Chasie

Charles Chasie is a Kohima-based independent researcher and author. He was a former editor and journalist in Nagaland and a winner of the prestigious Assam Media Trust Award. The author has closely observed, assessed and written about contemporary Naga events as they unfolded. He has contributed to various journals and publications, both in India and abroad for over three decades, and authored and co-authored books on media and the Naga situation. Among his work are. "The Naga Imbroglio: A Personal Perspective," digitised by Michigan University, "The State Strikes Bank: India and the Naga Insurgency," (co-authored) for East-West Center, Washington, (Policy Studies 52) and recently published the book, "The Road to Kohima: The Naga Experience in the 2nd World War", the first comprehensive Naga Narrative of the War (co-authored), November, 2017.
