It is mainly made of Gamari wood or Gmelina arborea, carved traditionally by Dao (Machete) and chisel during the olden days. This days the plates are carved by craftsmen using wood cutting machines and carving machines. It is a stable business which is promoted by many craftsmen as a livelihood income of many in the rural areas.
