There were no lacquers or chemicals or colorings used in the making of this wooden spoon, making it 100%  food safe.

If you’re wondering wood is washable, the answer is a simple yes. Just rinse it with a mild detergent. Keep it away from abrasives and the deep water soaks. Handwash only and you can re-oil periodically with a food safe oil. With simple care this beautiful spoon will last a lifetime.
