People Stories: Volume One is the first volume of stories gathered from various sources and more volumes will follow. This being the first volume, there has been obvious constraints, due to which the stories in this collection are mostly concentrated on two Naga tribes. Sincere efforts will be made to incorporate the stories of all Naga tribes in the ensuing volumes.


Avinuo Kire holds a Ph.D in English Literature and is Assistant Professor (English) at Kohima College. She is a writer who has contributed to various literary journals and anthologies. Her fictional works have been featured in leading magazines such as India Today, Caravan and The Hindu, amongst others. Kire has authored two books; and anthology of short fiction stories titled The Power of Forgiveness: And Other Stories (Zubaan Books) and a collection of poetry titled Where Wildflowers Grow (Barkweaver). She continues to write and in presently working on her next book.

Meneno Vamuzo Rhakho holds a Ph.D. in Indigenous Studies from Trent University, Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. Her Dissertation research was on 'The Contemporary Challenges of Naga Women in Nation Building', for which she was nominated for Trent University's President's Medal and the Governor General's Award, Canada. Currently she works as Research Officer at the State Resource Centre for Women.
