  Nagas are a group of hilly people living in the North-eastern hills region of India. They belong to the Mongoloid race and consist of various tribes each with a distinct language and local dialect. They are generally brave, honest, simple, hardworking and sociable people. The Nagas are generally happy and peace loving. However, they are very revengeful and unforgiving whenever injustice is done against them, their prestige or tot he common interest of the community or tribe. R. Stewart, one of the British Scholar Administrators, himself admitted that 'he learned a lesson from the Nagas to live peacefully, honestly without laws and without constituted authority living in general peace and honesty' (G.
