A little girl called Mally lives on a little island called Autumn island. One summer afternoon, Mally finds an unexpected visitor at her door. A strange-looking creature who captures not just her imagination but her heart as well. Young Mally makes friends with Dinkypu, the friendly and intelligent long-eared wombat, and she convinces her parents to open up their house to him. There are adventures in store for the two friends as Dinkypu tries to make the island his home, while his parents desperately try to get him back.
