IL Aier is Mokokchung born (1954) and bred in Dilong Ward. Graduated in 1977 and retired as a professor in Sociology from the NEHU, Shillong. As a senior high school student in 1969, spurred by his love for music, he was a memeber of several music bands known as Flames, Germination, Colored Spades and occassionally gig-jams with the Controllers. The bands performed on stage, parties and in tours of towns of Nagaland. They earned bits of pocket money out of it, most times nothing at all after meeting expensed. Still music life was considered "Cool" those days, anyways. By mid-college (1974) he left the performing arts opting for a college degree. His passion for music endures though no performing.
